It has been a cranky sort of day. I was at the supermarket around noon today and it was packed like sardines. Even a sardine can has more space. It was an Asian supermarket and for some reason, all Asian marts are super cramped, maximising rental? Haha. Well it looks like Thai Seng, and it's irritating to shop there so I flew in, grabbed my stuff and queued for the register. No kidding the line was so long we were pretty much queueing in the middle of the maggi mee aisle, nowhere near the front of the store anymore. And someone just HAD TO CUT IN LINE. First, she did it super obviously that you'd have to be blind to not notice. Second, her son told her that she was cutting in line and she just said AIYA TSK while shooing him with her hand. What in the world.
She actually cut in line behind me, and the lady behind me saw her too, and her handbag kept hitting my back. But it was so irritating because she felt so entitled, her son told her off twice and she shooed him off, so the lady whom she cut in line of also told her politely that she's cutting queue. And she pretended not to hear her, her son then tried to tell her again that the beginning of the line is way at the back, and she said something and tsk again. I would have told her off but apparently she doesn't understand English, or Chinese. But she clearly knew she was cutting because she looked back and saw the line behind, and she did it purposely. LADY I would learn whatever language you're speaking just so I can tell you off. ARGH entitled people are one of the worst people, you're an old lady so what, doesn't mean you can play dumb while doing something wrong. I would totally go out of my way to check if you're grocery shopping there again, and jump your queue.
High blood pressure at the start of the work day, and at the end of the day my blood already boiled and evaporated over my head. Someone called my workplace just to throw insults at us for getting something wrong, but well only one person can speak on the phone at a time so yay I was at the receiving end, like I always am. Tried to offer solutions, nope rejected, apologised and nope, you're a dumbwit. Yeah okay. It wasn't even my fault, don't shoot the messenger pls and thank you. The least you could do is be polite, if someone was rude nobody would have the motivation to find a solution, or even offer compensation. The person had the persistence to call continuously even though nobody was free to pick up the phone, but he wasn't interested in anything other than to scream my ears off. Thanks for that. Now that's five minutes of my life that I'm never getting back, hope it made your dinner super fun tho.
